Christophe Marais, originally from France, starting his career as a haircut instructor in Paris and Toulouse. He came to Houston via Los Angeles and Dallas then studing with celebrity stylist José Eber in Houston. He prides himself on treating his customers like royalty. Speaking of which, Christophe was employed by the King of Morocco for 2 years as a stylist.

Christophe creates feminine, chic, and sexy hair styles. He looks to his clients for inspiration to determine the type of style and cut that fits their personality. His styles are easy for his clients to replicate and maintain on their own. Christophe is a self-confessed fashion magazine junkie and knows all of the European designers and fashion houses by their work. He enjoys traveling and mixes business with pleasure traveling to France at least once a year to take classes and seminars learning new hair styling and cutting techniques. After chatting with Christophe, you will definitely notice this intangible quality that makes him distinctive and unique aside from his well-honed hair designing skills.

Originally from France, Philippe trained in Paris before coming to the United States to work under famed stylist José Eber. Another talented French stylist originally from Nice, France mostly known for his trademark Farrah Fawcett look. Initially working in San Diego and Dallas, he then came to Houston working under Jose. Philippe has a deep connection and love for his culture which comes to life through his work. He specializes in color as well as French cutting techniques. His loyal and longtime clients love his personalized cuts and styling as well as his amazing color work. His favorite part of his job is being creative and making people look and feel beautiful.

Born in Bogota, Colombia, Orlando embarked on his journey in the early 1980s at Academia Universal de Belleza, where he dedicated himself to mastering the Vidal Sassoon cutting techniques that have become his signature precision haircuts. 

He made the move to Houston in 1985, expanding his hairstyling skills by studying Barbering and deepening his mastery of haircutting. In 1996, he opened the Aveda lifestyle salon Nature's Way in The Galleria Area. This milestone opened doors for him to collaborate with esteemed, award-winning hairstylists, including Vidal Sassoon, Horst Rechelbacher, David Adams, Van Council, and David Wagner among others. Orlando showcased his skills on prestigious stages at New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week. In the following years, he channeled his passion into training programs for Houston's finest salons, sharing his expertise and inspiring future stylists. 

Today, he is known for his precision haircutting and exceptional up-styling for special events. His natural highlights (Baby lights) and dimensional color expertise reflect his artistry, and as a certified Brazilian blow-out trainer, he has built a trusted clientele. 

With a charismatic smile and a genuine sense of care, Orlando ensures every client enjoys an unparalleled experience. His greatest sense of accomplishment is when his clients return and share their experience with friends and family.

Dominique, originally from Texas, is a young ambitious stylist who always knew she wanted to be part of the beauty industry. She began her career as a teenager working the front desk at a small salon in Corpus Christi, Texas. After attending beauty school in 2014, she moved to Houston pursuing her dream as a hairstylist. Dominique received her training by some of Houston's most accomplished stylists: Christine Caballero, Sarah Al-Adwani and Tanya Roitburt.

Dominique loves gathering inspiration from everything around her and from experiences within the industry. She excels in Women’s Haircuts, Styling, Balayage, Highlights, Keratin Treatments and Brazilian blowouts amongst her broad set of services offered.

Hi there! I’m Samantha, and I’m so glad you’re here.  I specialize in precision haircutting, with a focus on creating shapes that work for your hair and your everyday life. When a haircut alone can’t quite achieve the fullness we’re looking for, I also offer sewn-in density extensions. More than anything, I love helping women understand their hair and what it actually needs.  I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, spent nine years in San Francisco, and moved to Houston in 2019 with my native Houstonian husband. Houston is very much home now.  I’m also a working mom of two little boys, so I fully understand that your hair has to work in your actual life. You can love beautiful hair and also not want to spend forever styling it every morning.  I believe a great haircut should look great freshly cut and continue to work as it grows. It should grow into another haircut—not just an awkward shape you tolerate until your next appointment.  I’m very straightforward. If I think something will work for your hair I’ll tell you. If I don’t, I will tell you that too. You don’t need to know exactly what to ask for or have the right hair terminology. And have spent my career continuing to learn and refine my craft. I love all haircuts, but I especially love working with hair collarbone length and above—from bobs and bixies to cropped pixies- I’m here for it!  I also specialize in sewn-in extensions for density, not necessarily length. Whether it’s adding extensions to adjust the shape while your hair grows or removing weight in areas where you’d like it to be “just a little bit” softer, I am dedicated to the process.  I live for the tiny details, making sure each extension stitch is as clean as possible and each hair in every haircut is accounted for.  When I am not behind the chair, I am soaking in all of the family moments with my husband, two sons (Where are all my boy mamas at?!) and our tiny toy poodle Vino. My husband’s three siblings all live within a one mile radius of us and I couldn’t be more grateful that my boys are surrounded by the most loving aunts, uncles and cousins. I can’t live without iced coffee and love a fancy craft cocktail. A hot yoga class is my happy place. Travel feeds my soul whether it’s a quick weekend road trip or a long flight to Europe. I specialize in lived-in blondes, dimensional brunettes, rich reds, and layered haircuts. I'm also Bellami Hair Extension certified in sew-in weft and K-Tip extensions, specializing in creating seamless, natural-looking length and volume.

While working as a stylist, she attended West Virginia University completing her Bachelor’s in Business in 2023.   She relocated to Houston joining The Upper Hand that same summer and quickly built a loyal clientele. Hailey’s clients include all walks and stages of life but most often are young professionals and executives. She is a full-service provider who is known for color as a Goldwell Master Colorist. She masterfully blends balayage and foil highlights with base and root colors to deliver gorgeous results that are fresh and achieve her client’s goals. She is certified in Bellami extensions, and also provides sew-ins, K-Tips, I-Tips and Tape-in services. In her spare time, she paints, frequents Houston’s restaurants, reads and travels.

Darcy Eaves is a Goldwell Master Colorist and distinguished Houston hair artist with over 20 years of experience, celebrated for her refined eye, technical mastery, and highly personalized approach to beauty. With experience at Beautique, Studio 3 The Salon, and Evolve Salon, she has cultivated a reputation for delivering elevated, bespoke results tailored to each client’s individual style, features, and lifestyle.  A commitment to excellence defines Darcy’s work. As well as being a Goldwell Master Colorist, she is Masters of Balayage (MOB) Certified, L’Oréal Balayage Certified, Mizani AirTouch Certified, Ouidad Certified, and Curl Cult Certified. Her advanced education has taken her to Paris, Italy, and throughout the United States, where she has continually refined her expertise in modern color, precision technique, and textured hair artistry.  Known for creating effortlessly luxurious, dimensional hair, Darcy blends artistry with innovation to deliver a sophisticated salon experience rooted in beauty, confidence, and exceptional care.
